"Aesop's Fables"--week12

Hello, everyone!!

Have you spent a good time in this weekend? Of course, I spent a good weekend. Also, winter vacation will come after a week, so I’m looking forward to coming winter vacation. Then, I read the story of “Mercury and the Wood cutter”. This story is famous in Japan. Therefore, many people may know the story. However, I like this story, so I’ll in traduce about it.

 

 

One day, woodcutter let his ax slip by chance into the water, and it immediately sank to the bottom. Fortunately, Mercury, whose river it was, took pity on him and suddenly appeared. Then, he dived to the bottom of the river and bought back a golden ax after he heard what had happened. And he asked the woodcutter whether the ax was his. However, the woodcutter told the truth. If you were the woodcutter, could you tell the truth? When he brought back a silver one, the woodcutter told the truth. Finally, after diving a third time, Mercury produced the ax that the man had lost. The woodcutter said “That’s mine!” And Mercury gave him the other two as presents. Later one of his friend decided to see whether he would have the same kind of luck, but the friend didn’t tell the truth. Of course, he couldn’t get anything.

I think that this story thought us the honesty is the best policy. However, it’s difficult. Sometimes, honesty doesn’t pay. We should have strong mind, aren’t we?

"Aesop's Fables"--week11

Hello, everyone!!

How are you? I’m fine, because I ate French cooking yesterday. A name of the cooking is “galette”. It’s so delicious, so if you have an opportunity, please try it!

Now then, I’ll talk about the “Aesop’s Fables”. The title of this story that I read is “The lion, the ass, and the fox who went hunting”. It’s long title, but the story isn’t so long. One day, the lion, the ass and the fox went hunting together. They caught a healthy meal, and the lion asked the ass to divide the spoils. Of course, the ass made three equal pats. When the lion noticed that the meal is equal, he was very angry and tore the ass to pieces. Next, the lion asked the fox to divide the spoils, and the fox gathered everything into one great pile except for a tiny portion. The fox learned from the ass’s fate. It is cruel story, isn’t it?

If you were the ass, what do you do? I think that the ass and fox shouldn’t be friend with the lion. The story thought us “Better to learn from the mistakes of others than by your own”. I think it is right.

"Aesop's Fables"--week10

Hi, everyone! We had a little long weekend in this week, so I think you spend good time. However, December has come!! I can’t believe. A year is very short, isn’t it?

Well then, I read the story of “Aesop’s Fables”. Today, I’ll introduce about “The Lion and the Mouse.” “Aesop’s Fables” has many stories of animals. Of course, today’s story’s main character is animal, too. One day, a lion was sleeping, but a mouse ran over the lion’s nose and awakened him. The lion grabbed the mouse with his paw. And just about to crush him, when the mouse began pleading for mercy and declared that he hadn’t consciously intended to offend the lion. Finally, the lion set the mouse free. After some days, the lion was caught by hunter, he couldn’t escape. After a while, the mouse noticed his tragedy, so he ran to the place and began nobbling the net to release. In short time, the lion was released. The story taught me that little friends may prove great friends. I think that this story is good, because, their friendship made me hot. In Japan, we had an idiom of “one who is kind to others is sure to be rewarded.”

It is nice idiom, is it? This winter is very cold, so if you want to be warm, please try to read this story!

"Aesop's Fables"--week9

Hello, everyone! We had a holiday in this Friday. It was so good for me to relax. Did you have a good holiday? If you had a good time, please tell me about it. And, I’ll introduce about the story of “Aesop’s Fables”. Today’s story is “Jupiter and Camel” Do you know this story? I think that this story is not famous in Japan, so many people didn’t know. However, it was interesting story, too.

First, this story’s characters are Jupiter and Camel. One day, the Camel asked Jupiter to grant him horns because he must put up with the abuse of all animals have horns who insults him. However, Jupiter was angry, because, the Camel was endowed with his own unique qualities. Of course, Camel didn’t notice it. This story tells us, “by asking for too much, we may lose the title that we once had.” It is important, but we sometimes forget it, so we try to get all that we could. We must keep our features, because it is only one for us!

"Aesop's Fables"--week8

Hi, everyone!! I think that many people had a warring, because we had to decide classes of next year. It is important to think about classes, so it is difficult. By the way, I read the “Aesop’s Fables” in this week, too. I was fascinated by this book. His stories teach me something and the stories have many animals as characters. I want to introduce all stories that I read. However, I would like to introduce about the story of “The Country Mouse and The Town mouse” today. Do you know story?

First, a town mouse came to the house of a country mouse. The country mouse gave a warm reception to the town mouse, but he couldn’t understand about the country life. Therefore, he invited the country mouse to his house in the town. The country mouse moved the cooking that he hasn’t seen at first. After a short time, a group of revelers came to his room, so they must hide a hole. After all, the country mouse couldn’t eat the dinner. And he thought his life is nice even if he couldn’t eat the dinner. He can eat a meal with composure. I think that this country mouse is able to live in the town if he is used to living. Also, the town mouse can live the country, too. However, if we know about handy goods, it is difficult for us to forget them. For example, we couldn’t live without computer, cell-phone, TV, a refrigerator and so on. These items are important for our life, but we must rely on these items too much.

"Aesop's Fables"--week7

Hello! Everyone!! In this week, I couldn’t try to read “ANDERSEN’S FAIRY TALES”, so I tried to read the other book. The name of the book is “AESOP’S FABLES”. And this book was written by Aesop. Also, my book was edited by Jack Zipes. “AESOP’S FABLES” is famous in Japan. Also it is easier than “ANDERSEN’S FAIRY TALES”. Because of this, “AESOP’S FABLES” has short stories. Therefore, I read fifteen stories in this week. It was so interesting! However, I couldn’t introduce about all stories that I read, so I would like to introduce about one of my favorite stories.

The title of my favorite story is “The Ants and the Grasshopper”. It is famous in Japan, too. When I was in kinder garden, I watched the story in my house. Of course, it wasn’t English. After I knew this story, I decided to try hard. Main characters of this story are ants and a grasshopper. And the ants were hard workers. They always worked hard if it was burning hot, because they needed to proper for the winter days. However, the grasshopper always sang and spent elegant time. It was long before, winter has come. Ants and the grasshopper couldn’t catch foods, but ants had no problems, because they had enough foods. As you know, the Grasshopper hadn’t foods, so he asked ants to give some foods. Ants hadn’t food except for their family’s foods. “Idleness brings want”. This ward is very shocking, isn’t it? However, I think that it is real, so not to be the grasshopper, I want to proper for my future. If I have an opportunity, I’ll introduce other story.

"Andersen's fairy tales"--week6

Hello! Everyone!! Did you have a nice weekend? I went to a festival of my friend’s college, and I had a pleasant weekend. Also, I read six short stories in “ANDERSEN’S FAIRY TALES”. For example, I read “The Little Match Girl” in this week. This story is famous in Japan, so I think many people know this story. And this story is so miserable. Some people think that a model of the little match girl is Andersen’s mother, because his mother spent poor girl days.

Next, I read “The Jumpers”, “The Drop of Water”, “The Happy Family” and “The Collar”. These stories were not difficult, and these are really short stories. Therefore, I recommend these stories if you don’t have time.

Finally, I would like to introduce about “The Shepherdess and the Chimney Sweep”. This story’s main character is doll. And the shepherdess that made of ceramic ware and the chimney sweep that made of ceramic ware were fallen in love with each other. However, they had a rival, and the rival was allowed by father of the shepherdess to marry with her. Of course, other characters are all dolls. It’s interesting to solve the problem, so I want you to read this story. If you have an opportunity, please try to read this story!

"Andersen's fairy tales"--week5

Hello! Everyone!! In this week, I had many exams so I was very tired. However, I read four short stories in “ANDERSEN’S FAIRY TALES”. These titles are “The Sweethearts (The Top and The Ball)”, “The Ugly Duckling”, “The Daring Needle” and “The Red Shoes”. I think that these stories are famous in Japan. Specially, “The Ugly Duckling” is one of my favorite stories. I’ll introduce about the story of this story.

I think that many people know this story. In fact, I read this story in Japanese when I was a child. The main character is an ugly duckling. One day, a baby was born in the group of duckling. The baby was the ugly duckling. He was tormented by the other duckling because of his looks. His look was different from other duckling. Therefore, he ran away from the group, but he was bullied. Finally, he decided to go to a group of swan to be killed. And, he decided to the truth. He became an adult. In fact, he was a swan. This story gives us courage. If you can’t have courage, I recommended this story for you.

"Andersen's fairy tales"--week4

Hello! Everyone!! How are you? This week was very hard, because I had to do many things. Also, I read five short stories in this week. These titles are “The Flying Trunk”, “The Rose Elf”, “The Evil Prince”, “The Swineherd” and “The Nightingale”. These stories were very interesting, but in these stories, I’ll introduce my favorite two stories. Of course, these stories were written by Hans Christian Andersen.

First, I’ll introduce about “Thee Flying Trunk”. The main character of this story is a wealthy merchant’s son. He is a profligate son and he used up all money he had inherited from his father. And his kind friend gave him a trunk. This trunk was magic trunk. Thank to this trunk, he met a princess of turkey. Next, he was admitted by her father and mother. And he congratulated to trunk filled with fireworks. Next day, when he tried to use the trunk to meet a princess, the trunk was burnt by fireworks. It was comical story, but I worry about him. Will he live alone?

Second, I’ll introduce about “The Nightingale”. This story was famous in his works. However, I read this story for the first time. This story’s stage was China. The emperor of China didn’t know the voice of nightingale, but the voice was admired by many people. Therefore, he got a nightingale and he satisfied this voice. One day, he got the fake nightingale (it is a handiwork.). Everyone wasn’t interest in real nightingale. After five years, the emperor became a sick. At the time, the real nightingale came back and he was encouraged by this voice. I have a bird, and she makes me happy. If you have an opportunity, plead these stories.

"Andersen's fairy tales"--week3

Hello! Everyone!! In this week, I read “The Little Mermaid” by “ANDERSEN’S FAIRY TALES”. Do you know this story? I think I know this story. However, I didn’t know this. My thinking was wrong, and this story was beyond my imagination!!

This story’s main character was the youngest mermaid of the king of sea. She had four older sisters, and she was fairest of them all. When she was fifteen years old, she saw a prince of human. A stormy night, she rescued him from a wrecked ship. However, she must not be seen by human. So the prince didn’t notice this. She wanted to know him to help because she loved him. And, she got legs in exchange for her beautiful voice. She lived with the prince, but he didn’t notice the truth. Also, she couldn’t tell the truth without voice. And the truth was twisted, he thought that other woman rescued him when a stormy night. It was big problem, because if the prince and she were not finally joined in marriage, she must vanish. Her sister tried to help her. However, she couldn’t choose hurting him. Finally, she became a bubble of sea.

It was sad end of this story. Her boy fiend abandoned her. I don’t think that she was happy. What do you think about her? However, it was told that the sad main character’s model is Andersen who is this book’s writer, because, he lead a single life.

"Andersen's fairy tales"--week2

Hello! Everyone!! In this month, I try to read “ANDERSEN’S FAIRY TALES”. This book wrote by Andersen. Do you know him? He was from Denmark. And he came from the house of a shoe shop. His story is interesting and imaginary. I think that his works is so cute.

In this week, I read four short stories. The titles are “The Fable Alludes to You”, “The Princess on the Pea”, “The Emperor’s New Clothes”, and “The Garden of Paradise”. My favorite tales are “The princess on the Pea” and “The Emperor’s New Clothes”.

First, I’ll talk about “The princess on the Pea”. There was once a prince who wanted a princess. He couldn’t find good princess. One day, a woman who introduced herself as a princess came to his city. However, old queen and the prince didn’t believe her, so old queen tested her. She went into the bed room, took off all the bedding, and put a pea on the bottom of the bed. And she put twenty mattresses and twenty eiderdowns quits. Finally, the princess noticed the something usual, and she was admitted by a prince and old queen.

Next, The Emperor’s New Clothes” is famous in Japan. The story was two charlatans made cloths for an emperor who was so exceedingly fond of beautiful new cloths. However, these clothes had the singular quality of being invisible to every person who was unfit for his post or else was inadmissibly stupid. For this rule, emperor and other retainer pretended to see the clothes. Of course, the clothes didn’t exist. The emperor who put on the clothes walked, and a child said “heavens, listen to the innocent’s voice!”

This scene was very interesting. When you are tired, I recommend this story.

"Andersen's fairy tales"--week1(fall)

I haven’t seen you for a long time! How are you?

Have you good summer vacation? I’m fine and my summer vacation was pretty good!

And I read “ANDERSEN’S FAIRY TALES” by Hans Christian Andersen with a new afterword by Joanne Greenberg. First, I read the story of “THE TINDERBOX” and “LITTLE CLAUSE AND BIG CLAUS”. I was interested in this fairy tales; however, I haven’t read this story, so I want to challenge to read this.

“THE TINDERBOX” was the story of a mysterious tinderbox. A soldier met a witch, and the witch asked him to bring her tinderbox. He withstood the severe trials. Finally, he helped a princess from her parents. Next, it was interesting for me to read “LITTLE CLAUSE AND BIG CLAUS”. This story’s main character was Little Claus and Big Claus. They have same name, but Big Claus had four horses and Little Claus Had a horse. The number of the horses was the origin of their names. Little Claus was very clever and his thinking was unique. Therefore, he got bush of money by using some wisdom. He used tragic things to earn some money. These ways may not good; however, I like the scene of the farmer family and Little Claus. His idea was interesting, so if you have an opportunity, please read this story.

Hello! Everyone!! How are you doing?

I’m really sorry that my blog’s update is late. We had many exams and assignments in last week. And, it’s last blog in this spring term. In addition, my book of “Winnie-the-pooh” is last, too. I read “In which Christopher Robin gives a Pooh Party, and we say good-bye.” It’s so charming story, too. Of course, this chapter’s main characters are Pooh and Christopher Robin. You have already known they are very cute. In this story, my favorite scene is the scene of Pooh’s dream began to sing. I’ll introduce about this song only first part.

This song is very interesting, so if you have an opportunity, you should read this chapter. And, I have one more favorite scene in this chapter. Christopher Robin gives Pooh a present. It was a special pencil case. “There were pencils in it marked “B” for Bear, and pencils marked “HB” for Helping Bear, and pencils marked “BB” for Brave Bear.” I think that this scene shows Christopher Robin’s love to Pooh. He loves Pooh very much. He thinks Pooh is the best bear in the entire world. It’s wonderful. I learned about the importance of relationship in this book. And, this book has power to make us fine! So if you have an opportunity, please read this book, “Winnie-the-pooh”.

Winnie-the-pooh -- week14

Hello! Everyone!! How are you today?

My hometown had a festival at a shrine recently. The festival brings us the real feeling of summer. However, we must make many assignments and study hard in this week. It is a terrible story, but we must do ;(

And I read the story of “In which Piglet entirely surrounded by water” in “Winnie-the-pooh”. This story is related to rain and the main character of this story is Piglet. One day, it rained continuously in forest they live. Piglet is very small, so she was very anxious to rain. If she surrounded by water, she couldn’t anything. For example, Christopher Robin and Pooh could escape by jumping, and Rabbit escape by burrowing, and Owl could escape by frying, and Eeyore could escape by making a loud voice until rescued. Therefore, she decided to write a letter to a small place of dry paper, and a bottle with to it. This scene was my favorite in this story. “HELP! PIGRET(ME)” and on the other side; “IT’S ME PIGRET, HELP.” Finally, this letter was found by Pooh. And he was going to help her. However, it was difficult to help only Pooh, so he called Christopher Robin and Owl. I like their relationships.

Winnie-the-pooh -- week13

Hi, everyone!! How are you?

This week was very hot, too. We couldn’t spend a time without air-conditioning. I think that the person who invented this machine is an extremely talented inventor.

I was reading the story of “In which Christopher Robin leads an expotition to the North Pole” in “Winnie-the-pooh”. This story was very comical. Also, expotition is mistake of Pooh, this ward means expedition. Pooh and Christopher Robin decided to go to explore toward the North Pole. However, they didn’t know the North Pole, so Pooh and he walk toward the North with their playmates. However, their playmates didn’t know it, too. Finally, Pooh found a pole in the north. And Christopher Robin declared the end of the expedition, because everyone thought Pooh found the North Pole. Do you understand this mean? This pole was found in the north. Is it interesting? They put up the pole and Pooh wrote message. It is my favorite scene. Pooh wrote, “NORTH POLE DISOVERED BY POOH, POOH FOUND IT”. Pooh also had a mistake, disovered means discovered. Their dream of finding the North Pole was achieved. Of course, it isn’t the North Pole. However I think it’s ok because they look happy.

Winnie-the-pooh -- week12

Hello, everyone!! How are you?

This week was very hot. I need an air conditioner when I sleep.

I was reading chapter seven in “Winnie-the-pooh”. This chapter’s main character is Kanga. Also, Roo is Kanga’s baby is main character, too. They are new face and they are kangaroo. And Pooh, Piglet and Rabbit try to capture the baby, Roo. Rabbit made the plan to do it.

First, Kanga never takes her eyes off baby Roo, except when he’s safety buttoned up in her pocket. Therefore, Rabbit’s plan is important to Pooh is talking to her very excitedly. And Rabbit run away with Roo, next, Piglet Jumping in her pocket. Piglet looks like Roo. It’s good idea. However, Kanga was under the impression that Piglet is Roo. Finally Piglet escaped from her house. It is not good to cheat someone, it is sure the lie came out. I think that all lie is not bad, because there is good lie not to hurt someone. In this story, they were all happy again so it is not so bad.

Winnie-the-pooh -- week11

Hello, everyone!! How are you?

This week, we have many sunny days!

And I read the chapter 6 of “Winnie-the-pooh”.

I was reading the story of Eeyore in this week. It’s story of the birthday of Eeyore. Last week, I told you that Eeyore is my favorite character. In this story, Eeyore is always in distressing circumstances. However, he is cute and very charming.

In the day of Eeyore’s birthday, Pooh and Piglet decide to give him presents. Of course, Pooh’s present is honey pot. And Piglet’s present is balloon. They want to congratulate Eeyore’s birthday. I expected Pooh cannot stand to eat the honey. And my expectation was correct. Finally, Pooh gave a pot of honey to Eeyore. Next, Piglet’s strategy wasn’t going well. Piglet stumbled over a stone and fall. She had a balloon by her hand, so the balloon burst. As a result, she gave the balloon to Eeyore. They forget his birthday for the first time. I think that Eeyore was very sad. However I think Pooh’s word made Eeyore happy, too. Pooh said him, “Very Happy Birthday with love.” I think that this ward is wonderful. How about you?

Winnie-the-pooh -- week10

Hello, everyone!! How are you today?

 

In this week, it rained continuously. Do you like rainy day? I like sunny day because it is difficult for me to wake up early in rainy day. Well, I was reading “Winnie-the-pooh”. And I read the ‘chapter4’ and ‘chapter5’, in this week. Pooh is cute as usual in this week. Today I’ll introduce about my favorite story and Pooh’s charming story.   

First, chapter4 is my favorite story. And this story is Eeyore’s story. I like this character in this story. One day, Eeyore lost his tail! Eeyore is old grey donkey. Pooh cooperated with him to search his tail. Also, I like a scene that Pooh found it at owl’s door. Owl used his tail as doorbell, it is very terrible story. However, I think that it is very funny story because that story doesn’t happen in real world.

Next, in chapter 3, I read the story of Piglet and Pooh. They tried to find ‘Heffalump’. It is imaginary animal and the animal look like elephant. They made a trap to catch the animal. It’s honey trap. They used Pooh’s honey. Pooh is very fond of honey. So Pooh didn’t control his appetite and he didn’t want to give the honey to ‘Heffalump’. In the night, Pooh ate the honey and he fit into the pot. Next day, Piglet come and she thought it is ‘Heffalump’ when she saw the scene. However, of course, it is Pooh. Piglet made merry because she catch the imaginary animal. And Piglet told Christopher Robin. Christopher Robin noticed that it is Pooh. Pooh and Christopher Robin are best friends.

 

 

“Winnie-the-Pooh”, this story makes me happy. So I think everyone feels good. I recommend this book when you feel tired or you disappointed. So if you have some opportunity, please read this story.

Winnie-the-pooh -- week9

Hello, everyone!! How are you doing? I’m really sorry that my blog’s update is late. We have many assignments in this week!!

I was reading “Winnie-the-pooh”. And I read the ‘chapter2’ and ‘chapter3’, in this week.

Last week, I forgot to tell you about Pooh. Pooh is not real bear, in fact, he is teddy bear of Christopher Robin. 

First, chapter 2 was funny story, because Pooh got caught in the door. Pooh went to friend’s house. However, the house has very small door. He wanted to eat honey in the room, so he stuffed his face in the door. The result of this moment, he couldn’t get out of the door. This scene was very cute.

Next, in chapter 3, Pooh and Piglet go hunting and nearly catch a Woozle. Woozle is not exists in real world. The animal resembles to a weasel. Pigret found foot print. As a result, they couldn’t found the animal. And I’ll introduce about my favorite words. When Pooh was in very low sprits, Christopher Robin encouraged him. He said soothingly, “you’re the Best Bear in All the world.” It is moving word because I feel Christopher Robin’s love for Pooh. I think that it is very hot story! So if you have some troubles, please read this story. This story makes you happy :)

Winnie-the-pooh -- week8

Hello, everyone!! How are you doing?

I finished reading “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald last week. So I decided a book to read next. The book is “Winnie-the-pooh” by A. A. Milne. It is famous book all over the world. And I like this Character when I was young. The main character is Pooh. Pooh and other characters are very cute and very fantastic. This book is composed by 10 chapters. I want to read this book one chapter a week.

And, today I will talk about first chapter. The first chapter was very funny story. Pooh tried to get some honey from the wasps’ nest. First, he tried to climbed the tree has the wasps’ nest. However, it is not good for him. He couldn’t get the honey. Next, he tried to use balloon. He caught the balloon and was going to go to the nest. Pooh borrowed this blue balloon from Christopher Robin, but this way couldn’t well, too.

However, I think this mind that he never gives up to get the honey is very cool!!

The Great Gatsby -- week7

Hello, everyone!! How are you?

I finished reading “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Last week, I read the sad story. However, I read more melancholy story in this week.

 

First, He talked about the encounter of Daisy. She was born in the rich house. In contrast, Gatsby was poor so as not to be able to change clothes. However, he loved Daisy. After this, Gatsby and Daisy was separated by WWⅠ.Daisy couldn’t wait him, and she married Tom. This was the truth.

 

Also, Wilson couldn’t forgive murder for killing his wife. So he thought to kill the murder. And Tom was angry with Gatsby, so he told Wilson about the murder’s name. Wilson murdered Gatsby, and he seemed to commit suicide, too. A few people came to the funeral of Gatsby. Of course there were not Tom and Daisy. Gatsby thought that he could obtain Daisy by having money. However, it’s not truth. I think that we cannot buy the heart of the human for money. I feel very sorry for Gatsby. He didn’t know that there are things that you can’t buy with.

 

In Japan, This book was made into a movie. I want to watch the movie. If you have an opportunity, please watch the movie. The characters are very charming and the story is well constructed.

The Great Gatsby -- week6

Hello!

I am reading “The Great Gatsby”. I read chapter 12 and chapter 13 this week. Of course these chapters were fun, too!!

First, Daisy’s husband, tom noticed that Daisy loved Gatsby. Also Daisy and Nick and Tom and Jordan took a drive to New York to escape from heat. Tom said to Gatsby, “You took my car and I’ll take yours. Came on, Daisy. I’ll drive you in this crazy yellow thing.” However, Daisy declined the offer and went with Gatsby. In the end, Tom took Jordan and Nick. Tom’s car was very unhappy. And Tom stopped at the Wilson’s garage to fill it up with gasoline. Wilson’s color of face didn’t look healthy. He noticed the flirtation of his wife and he was going to the West. Tom noticed he was going to lose his lover. And, in the next chapter, a terrible accident has occurred.

Tom told Daisy that Gatsby is selling alcohol under cover, because he didn’t feel good to Gatsby. Daisy was awfully confused and asked Tom to want to go home. However, Tom told Gatsby to drive her home. In the way back, Gatsby has run over and killed Myrtle. She was Wilson’s wife and Tom’s lover. Tom and Wilson were awfully shocked; in addition Gatsby is awfully depressed.

 

There were many sad scenes this week, so I’m looking forward to read the hopeful scenes next week.

The Great Gatsby -- week5

Hello, everyone! I’m continuing to read “The Great Gatsby”.

This week, I read about the past of Gatsby and the story of Daisy and Gatsby. It was very interesting for me. The first scene is Daisy and Gatsby and Nick hold a tea ceremony.

Gatsby looked forward to see Daisy. And he arrived at the Nick’s house earlier than her. When Daisy came, Gatsby was tense very much. And she said to Gatsby, “Well, I’m certainly glad to see you again.” They seemed to be hard to talk. So Nick left his seat for 30 minutes, when Nick returns Daisy’s face was covered with tears and Gatsby seemed to grow with happiness. I didn’t know why she cried.

 

Next, Gatsby invites Nick and Daisy to the house. In his bedroom, he laughed and took out a pile of shirts and began throwing them, one by one, before Nick and Daisy. Suddenly, Daisy bent her head into the shirts and begun to cry and she said, “They’re such beautiful shirts. I’ve never seen such –such beautiful shirts!” She smiled so blight and so sad. I think that she wanted to meet old him, so she was glad that he become rich, however, it’s sad that he has changed. And Gatsby was beginning to realize the difference between his imaged Daisy and his real one.

Later, Nick known about the past of Gatsby. Real name of Gatsby is James Gatsby, and he disliked his family that is poor. So he left home to new life for himself when he is 16 years old. He imaged that he become rich and lived in huge house. He wants to regain a past. Nick said “you can’t repeat the past.” This ward really got to my hearts. We only have one life, so I want to value my life.

The Great Gatsby -- week4

Hello! I’m continuing to read “The Great Gatsby”.

Gatsby is the main character of this book, and he is very mysterious man. There is not person who know his past. It is difficult to read mysterious book, but it is fun.

 

This week, I read to Chapter 8.

In chapter 7, Nick (he is narrator of this book) knew the mysterious past of Gatsby. Gatsby said, “I am the son of some wealthy people in the Midwest. They’re all dead now.” It is very sad story, he was lonely. And he raised in America but he educated at oxford. Also, all his family had been educated there. Next, Nick met a friend of Gatsby. He is Mr. Wolfsheim and he is Gatsby’s fellow worker.

 

Chapter 8 is my favorite. Because, the relations of Gatsby and Daisy become clear. One day, Nick and Jordan (she is friend of Daisy) had tea. And she told the truth as she looked. She was working on the street outside of Daisy’s house. And she saw her that morning, sitting in her car with a handsome army officer who is Jay Gatsby! Times goes by, she seemed to be engaged to a man, but she married Tom. She was crying at wedding day. And she said “Go and tell them Daisy changed her mind.” I like this line, because her hid feeling appears. After all, she married. However, she has met Gatsby now.

How will they heart change?

The Great Gatsby -- week3

I am reading The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

I knew this book after I entered the DWC. I watched the part of the movie of this book by a class. And I had this story interest.

 

I have read the first five chapters. This story was spoken by Nick. Nick was born in a rich house, and he joined the army to fight in WWⅠ. When he returned to America, he decided to become a New York stock broker. And he moved out to the East Coast in1922.

 

My favorite character is Daisy who is a cousin of Nick. Also, her husband is Tom. Tom is rich people too. In addition, he has a lover. Nick thought Daisy should leave Tom forever, but Daisy didn’t seem to think that was necessary at all. If I were Daisy, I couldn’t stand his flirtation, so I respect the strength of her heart.

 

Also, I had favorite scene. It is the scene where Nick takes a break after Tom and Daisy advised to marry a woman who is Daisy’s friend. Nick sat outside for a while and look at the night sky. When I have some troubles, I like looking at the night sky, because I felt refreshed.

 

Gatsby just still came out, because I have read only five chapters. Now, Nick and Daisy’s friend who is Jordan participate in the party hosted by Gatsby. And Jordan knew the secret of Gatsby. I’m looking forward to reading a left chapter.

Love in the Lakes -- week2

I read Love in the Lakes by Penny Hancock. I like the book of romance and romantic comedy, so I was attracted by the title when I looked this book for the first time.

The main character is Laura who has a food shop and cafe in London. She is very kind woman. And she has a boyfriend who name is Nick. Nick likes doing jet-ski.

Laura was offered to care of dog that name is Kip at beginning of the book. Laura's neighbour, Joseph has Kip, and he has severe disease. Laura and Nick and Kip were in the beautiful Lake District of England for a short holiday.

And Laura meets Robert who is my favorite character when Kip gets ill. Robert is the vet and he is mysterious man. He doesn't smile and he is cold for Laura and Nick, because he doesn't like the city people who kill his girlfriend in the old days. However, he is kind when he noticed that Laura was different from other city people.

On the other hands, Laura's boyfriend likes jet-ski rather than her. I hate him, because he is cool for Kip and Robert. When Joseph has died, all he thinks about is how much the dog cost her. Finally, she decides to say good-bye to Nick. I think she is right.

I enjoyed that I read this book. As for me, the change of feeling of Robert and Laura was very interesting. I recommended it to people who like romance. And this book is page 80 in total. I think that you must be able to enjoy it.

My name is Sayaka Nakagawa, and many people call me Sayaka. Also, I was called wakame when I was high school student. because of this, I had a long black hair like a seaweed. I was born in Hyogo. And I live in Osaka with my family.

I have a young brother. He doesn't resemble me very much. I keep a pet bird, her name is p-chan. In addition, I have a loach and two wooper-looper. these fishes are new member.

I joined brassband when I was junior high school student and I was high school student. And I played the trombone for six years. I like music, especially, classical music and symphonics.

I like reading books since I was young, especially, romantic comedy and fantasy. Also, I got some prize of writing a book report when I was young. And my favorite book is twilight series and harry potter series.

It is hard for me to read a map, So I lose my way well. When I was at a loss, I enjoy a walk, it is my favorite thing.

I'm lookimg forward to encountering many works.
